First Team All-Atlantic Region
(LEXINGTON, KY)---A pair of Wheeling Jesuit standouts have been named to the American Volleyball Coaches' Assocation's (AVCA) All-Atlantic Region first team. WVIAC Player of the Year Catie Halberstadt and Caitlin Carey were recognized after leading the Cardinals to a 30-10 overall record that included a conference tournament title and an Atlantic Region runner-up finish. WVIAC Volleyball Player of the Week (10/13-19): ---Keysha Allison, Wheeling Jesuit, Soph., RS/S, Millersburg, OH: Allison posted solid all-around numbers during Wheeling Jesuit's 3-1 week...The sophomore averaged 5.9 assists and 2.2 digs per game, while notching 20 kills and a .294 hitting percentage...The Cards picked up an important WVIAC win against Davis & Elkins and also took two of three contests versus regional foes in the WJU Regional Crossover tournament. |

Halberstadt Named 10/6-12 WVIAC Volleyball Player of the Week 10/13/2008
Catie Halberstadt, Wheeling Jesuit, Jr., OH, Jackson Center, OH: Halberstadt posted a big effort as Wheeling Jesuit downed Alderson-Broaddus in five sets during a key league confrontation...The Cardinal junior accounted for 24 kills and 19 digs to help WJU remain among the league's top three squads...She also chipped in three blocks and an ace.

Campanelli Recieves Week #6 WVIAC Cross Country Honors 10/6/2008
Women's Runner of the Week:
---Sarah Campanelli, Wheeling Jesuit, Soph., Gahanna, OH: Campanelli placed fourth out of 204 runners in the Blue Division race at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic...The WJU sophomore helped her squad to a third place team finish after completing the 5K course at Tom Sawyer State Park in 18:56, the second fastest time at the distance in the conference during the 2008 season.
